CFC Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 2023

This Privacy Policy describes how Committee for Children (“CFC,” “we,” or “us”) collects, uses, and discloses information about you. This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect when you access or use our websites, and other online products and services that link to this Privacy Policy, such as SecondStep.org, or redirect to a CFC-owned website which posts this Privacy Policy (collectively, our “Services”), or when you otherwise interact with us, such as through our customer support channels, social media pages, or attend a webinar co-hosted by CFC.

If you interact with our Second Step® digital curriculum learning platform as an authorized user of a licensed education customer (e.g., a district or school) CFC is a service provider to that education customer, and our processing of your personal information will be subject to the education customer’s privacy policy. If you have questions about how we collect, use, and share your personal information when providing the Services to an education customer, please see that education customer’s privacy policies or contact them directly for more information.

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the top of this policy. We may also provide you with additional notice (such as by adding a statement to the Services or sending you a notification), such as in connection with making material changes to this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy regularly to stay informed about our information practices and the choices available to you.

Please be aware that CFC-owned websites may contain links to content hosted on third-party sites which may have their own privacy policies. After following a link to any third-party site, you should refer to any posted privacy policy information to determine how your personal information may be collected and used. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any of your activities after you leave our websites.

ADVERTISING AND ANALYTICS

We engage others to provide analytics services and serve advertisements across the web and in mobile apps. Note that the third-party platforms may offer you choices about whether you see these types of customized ads.

CFC makes commercially reasonable efforts to disable third-party advertising cookies across its websites; however, CFC is not always able to do so (e.g., videos embedded with YouTube).
